GYMNASTICS AND ACROBALANCE/HUMAN PYRAMIDS
This unit is related to improve your balance skills and face your fears of being upside down. By the end of the unit you must be able to do a handstand with some help of your partners.
The main reason of doing all this is to prepare yourself to the next level of complexity of this Unit, which in Spanish is known as ACROSPORT but in English there's no single word to name it, Acrobalance, Gymnastic formation and Human pyramid are some of the names related to this sport.
Let's see each of them
ACROBALANCE
Acrobalance is an acrobatic art that combines elements of adagio and hand balancing.
Adagio consists of partner lifts, usually performed by a man and a woman, where the male lifts his female partner in many different poses and positions.
Hand balancing is the performance of acrobatic body shape changing movements, or stationary poses, or both, while balanced on and supported entirely by one's hands or arms.
HUMAN PYRAMID
A human pyramid is an acrobatic formation of three or more people in which two or more people support a tier of higher people, who in turn may support other, higher tiers of people. People above the bottom tier may kneel or stand on the shoulders, backs or thighs of the people below them. Typically, the number of people in each tier is one greater than the tier immediately above it, resulting in a triangular structure reminiscent of the formation's namesake.
GYMNASTIC FORMATION
Gymnastic formation is a collective art based on gymnastic expressed by 30 to 5000 figurants using only human bodies without instruments. It is commonly presented in Japanese schools as a part of physical education curriculum. The expression of the collective beauty based on force, passion, and union of young men is much more important than the individual expression. It is a modality of mass game.
To practice this sport you must know some of the basic rules and techniques that are involved.
ROLES
There are two main roles in this sport:
Carrier: normally the heavier and stronger ones, whose task is to hold the basement of each figure
Agile: lighter and with more flexibility than Carriers. These are the one who will take the upper positions that require more control of the body.
GRIPS
There are a few grips involved in the sport. Each of them has an unique utility for the figure itself. From stronger grips to lift loads, to ligther that are used to hold others moves.

SECURITY
Last but not least, security when practicing this sport is very important. Here are some pics of what to do or not to do.
There are more security measures that will be told later on.
Here I post you a video about some professional gymnastics performers. Maybe it will inspire you.
And now, last but not least, here are some of the formations that we will be doing in class.
